Canditto Newsletter June 2008 Newsletter

Picture from Gala"Anywhere there are smiles and cameras," is how we've described suitable events for Canditto.  With summer in full swing ,there's no shortage of either and we are having a great time archiving the fun with the Canditto kiosk.

Summer is all about light reading, so this June issue will be a quick one.  Thanks for thinking about Canditto!

With a smile,

Rush
Photos, Photos, Photos Everywhere.
So Now what?
Picture from GalaIf you've read previous issues of this newsletter, you know that Canditto is a great way to collect all the amateur photos taken at a large group event.

But once all the photos have been collected, what then?

This spring we've seen a range of reactions.  Some clients are statisfied knowing all the photos are saved on a CD.

At the other end of the spectrum are the clients who are interested in giving their guests customized thumb drives filled with the best party pictures.

Someplace in the middle are the majority of party hosts who want their photos hosted on the web.  For these clients we gladly handle the bulk upload to any general purpose photo hosting site or niche ones, such as SeeYouThen.com.

With so many options, there's is seemingly no end to what you can do with all your guests' photos.
From the Field:
"How Many Pictures Should I Expect?"

Picture from GalaThis is one of the most commonly-asked questions we receive.

Unsurprisingly, there is no single answer because it depends on many factors --  the percentage of people who bring digital cameras with them, the location of the Canditto kiosk, and of course how many pictures the guests take.  We typcially expect to collect about 2 to 3 pictures per guest on average, but we've seen the number rise to nearly 5 at events with a snap-happy crowd.

The best news?  Canditto costs the same no matter how many pictures are collected so the more pictures the better!
Oh Those Wedding Blogs... (a warning!)
Picture from GalaA manager of a small business recently told me that after reviewing his company's internet logs, he decided he had to block one particular website to protect his staff from frittering the day away.

Can you guess which one? It was The Knot.com.  Making matters worse is the competition from its sister site, Wedding Channel and a bevy of independent upstarts including WeddingBee, Unbride, Handcrafted, Fine Wedding Website, Truly Wedding and One Red String (among many, many others).  Each has a little different approach to the wedding -- and blogging -- process.

So be careful out there, websurfing brides-to-be!
